Tree work in Canada Bay
Waterfront and foreshore on Canada Bay.
- Trees lean toward the light over the water, so the weight sits out over the foreshore.
- Steep blocks running down to the water, with the tree between the house and the boatshed.
- Access is the whole job: stairs, inclinators, a crane over the house, or working from the water. We have taken the truck and chipper across by barge.
Trees we often see in waterfront and foreshore: Swamp oak, Cabbage tree palm, Norfolk Island pine, Cocos palm.
Council rules

Questions
Tree work in Canada Bay: questions.
Do I need council approval to remove a tree in Canada Bay?
Often. Canada Bay is in the City of Canada Bay Council area, where a permit is usually needed for 5 m or taller, trunk over 300 mm at ground level, or canopy over 4 m. Exempt species and some pruning don't need one. Our Canada Bay guide walks through it with a checker.
Does the 10/50 bushfire rule apply in Canada Bay?
None of Canada Bay is mapped as bush fire prone land. 10/50 entitlement areas use a different map, so this is only a guide: the 10/50 clearing rule probably won't apply. The RFS 10/50 tool, not the suburb, decides. See the 10/50 rule explained.
Do you work in Canada Bay?
Yes. We work right across Sydney from four bases (Engadine, Ryde, Gordon and Bankstown), including Canada Bay and nearby Five Dock and Concord.
How much does tree removal cost in Canada Bay?
It depends on the tree's size, access, what's underneath and whether you want the stump ground. On waterfront blocks access is usually the biggest factor: stairs, an inclinator, a crane over the house or working from the water. Quotes are free and no-obligation. See what affects the cost.
